When I accomplish "X", I will reward myself with "Y".
It is not uncommon to dangle the carrot for ourselves in order to drive the behaviour that we desire.
Most of us tend to be highly externally motivated.
Would it be awesome to be able to act purely on our own internal drive to be better? Well SURE!
Realistic? Not all the time.
Go ahead and bribe yourself with something that's going to motivate you.
But pro tip... try to bribe yourself with something that aligns with what you are working towards.
"If I resist cake, I'm going to reward myself with cake" doesn't quite cut it.
